Help first time owner trying to find the right dog?

Im 17 my parents are finally letting me get a dog and I need help finding the right dog
I would like a medium size dog that is friendly but reserved around strangers I would a playful dog but not one that’s to active and one that’s not to independent any suggestions.

I know you want a medium size dog, but you say you are looking at Pugs and Beagles. I love my Puggle……hybrid created by breeding a purebred male Pug and purebred female Beagle. Contrary to what others may say, they are not mutts anymore than other breeds that were mixed 100 years ago and accepted today as purebreds. (That last bit of info was for the uneducated purebred snobs.) They can also be registered with the CKC and ACHC as long as both parents are registered.

Our Puggle is active, but not too active….loves to play. He is also very layed back and snuggly. He is very friendly and we take him everywhere we go. Everyone falls in love with him and thinks he is just adorable. He is very well mannered and smart. He is not too independent and loves interacting with the family….something that they need. Our Puggle hasn’t shed at all, but I have heard that they can.

Basically, if you want an adorable, smart, loving, fun, little dog, I would go for a first generation Puggle (first generation so you know exactly what you’re getting).
